Careers Fair 2009

On the evening of Tuesday 3rd November 2009 the Streetly School held a very successful Careers Fair for years 10, 11, 12 and 13 students. There were 30 exhibitors promoting an extremely wide and varied range of post 16 possibilities.

The high number of parents and students who attended was very pleasing and their comments, together with those of the exhibitors, have been most complimentary.

Plans for the Careers Fair next year, on 3rd November 2010, are already being formulated.

Year 11 Certificate Evening

Our Year 11 certificate evening was a huge success and it was enjoyable to see our successful students return to collect them.

Photos taken during the event will be available at reception from Monday 16th November 2009.

Streetly Visits Paris!

During the October half term a group of 37 pupils visited the capital of France.

We stayed in a Chateau outside of the city and were treated to many fun evening activities.

During our four days there, we scaled the Eiffel Tower, did a town trail in Montmatre, went on a stunning evening cruise down the Seine, had a fun day in Disney Land and much, much more!

The weather was beautiful and a good time was had by all!

I am delighted to welcome you to The Streetly School, an 11 – 18 Sports College in the heart of the community.

Results at all Key Stages have risen considerably and we are committed to continually improving our provision in order that all our young people receive the highest quality education possible.

Gaining good qualifications is important but the experience of school is far more than academic achievement alone.

We are proud of our excellent facilities, most attractive site and the very wide range of extra curricular opportunities offered to our students in Sport, Music and Drama and through trips and visits here and abroad.

We believe in developing independence and leadership qualities in all our students. We have an extensive Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme, Sports Leaders programmes and a highly effective School Council whose views are sought on everything from senior staff appointments to improvements in teaching and learning.

We are particularly proud of the contribution our Sixth Form Students make to the life of the school. Our recent Ofsted inspection praised the commitment of Sixth Form students to the school community.

The Health and well-being and achievement of every student is central to all that we do.

I hope that you find the information on this website of interest and that it gives you a flavour of what life at The Streetly School is like.
